Applications invited for Indian Army - Technical entry -
Coimbatore: Applications invited for the Indian Army from men (34th SSC) and women candidates (5th SSC) for Short Service Commission (Technical).
Those who have passed or are studying in the final semester of a B.E. or B. Tech. course are eligible to apply.
According to a release from Army Recruiting Office, Coimbatore, the candidates should be between 20 and 27 years of age. The number of vacancies for men is 49 and for women it is 40.
Short-listed candidates will be called for an interview at Bhopal, Bangalore or Allahabad.
Selected candidates will undergo a 49-week training at Officers Training Academy, Chennai. On successful completion, candidates will be granted commission in the rank of Lieutenant.
Widows of Defence personnel (with / without children) are eligible to apply for Short Service Commission, both in the technical and non-technical category.
They can be graduates in any discipline or an engineer. They are eligible for four years age relaxation.
Applications can be downloaded from the website www.indianarmy.gov.in. Filled applications should reach the Additional Directorate General of Recruiting, West Block III, R.K. Puram, New Delhi, by August 21.
