Admission to M.Phil at Periyar University-
Applications are invited for the admission to M.Phil degree Programme at Periyar University
Eligibility:
M.Phil(Full time)::Candidates who have qualified for their Post Graduate Degree on or after I st January 1991 shall be required to have obtained a minimum of 55% of marks in their respective Post Graduate Degrees to become eligible to register for the degree of the Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) and undergo the prescribed course of study in an approved institution or Department of this University. For the candidates belonging to SC/ST community and those who have qualified for the Masters degree 01.01.1991 the minimum eligibility marks shall be 50% in their Masters Degree. Candidates who have passed the two years Masters degree of other Universities after 17 years of study under 10+2+3+2 or 11+1+3+2 or 11+2+2+2 pattern of study which are already recognized by this University, alone are eligible for admission for M. Phil Degree course
M.Phil(Part time): (i)Technical Staff/Research Assistants working in the University Departments. (ii) Teacher candidates working in the Polytechnics approved by the Directorate of Technical Education or in Higher Secondary Schools and High Schools/Schools approved by State Board or Central Board of Secondary Education or Educational Institutions of IAF (within Periyar University Jurisdiction - Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri) who possess a Masters Degree. It may be noted that only the teachers whose appointment has been approved by the competent authority should be selected. Other Eligibility Criteria are the same as that of Full-Time. Duration of the Course: 2 Years C. Medium of instruction for M.Phil. programme is only English.
