Chennai: MBBS /BDS seats in Tamil Nadu under government quota have been completely filled at the close of second phase of counselling, according to section committee official.

Briefing about the present scenario of the counselling process, Muthuselvan, Secretary, Selection Committee Medical Education said, " All MBBS/BDS government quota seats have been filled in Govt and Self Finance Colleges.

Candidates having received reservation orders in the second phase of counselling should join the colleges by 29th " .

1,700 MBBS/BDS seats were vacant at the end of the first phase of counselling following which the second phase of online counseling started on Dec 17th to fill the vacant seats.

At the end of the second phase counselling, 7,430 MBBS/BDS seats had been filled.

Further, 582 seats were also filled through 7.5 percent quota for government school students.

In self-financed colleges, 126 applicants have secured seats under NRI category.
