Eligibility
The Karnataka Private Postgraduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) conducts the KMAT every year to admit students into students quota. This year the test was held on 8th July 2008. It was conducted across 13 locations and 22 centres in Karnataka.

The places where the test was administered include:-
Bagalkot, Bangalore, Belgum, Bellary, Bijapur, Davangere, Gulbarga, Hubli, Mangalore, Shimoga, Tumkur, amd Udpi.

This test (approved by the government of Karnataka) is open to the students throughout the country. Candidates with any Bachelors Degree of minimum 3 years duration after 10 +2, form any recognized university with a minimum 50% marks are eligible to apply for KMAT. Students who applied for both MBA and MCA had to pay Rs.600/- and those who applied either for MBA or MCA has to pay Rs. 500/-. Application forms were available at the participating colleges and can be downloaded from the official websites.

Test Structure
The test generally has 4 sections of 40 questions each viz., Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Basic Aptitude and Logical Reasoning of these, those students applying only for MBA are to attempt Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills and Basic Aptitude (in 120 minutes); those applying only for MCA are to attempt Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills and Logical Reasoning (in 120 minutes). Students applying for both the programmes are supposed to attempt all the four sections (in 60 minutes).
