IIT Madras hosts 'Entrepreneurship Summit 2024' to ignite innovation- 9-Mar-2024
Chennai: The Entrepreneurship Cell of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is organizing the ninth edition of its annual 'Entrepreneurship Summit' from March 7th to 10th, 2024.
This flagship event aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, featuring a diverse lineup of 50+ renowned speakers and 50+ events spread across four impactful conclaves.
E-Summit 2024 encompasses the Youth Conclave, Innovators' Conclave, Start-up Conclave anchored by Vi Business, and Start-up Essentials Conclave anchored by Trilegal.
This edition holds the distinction of being the first-ever student-run entrepreneurial gathering in India to receive ISO, Startup India, and UNESCO certifications.
The summit is poised to host over 1000 founders, 50+ investors, and draw participation from 15,000+ students representing more than 400 colleges across India.
The event's highlight, a free-for-all Start-up Expo, will provide a platform for 100 innovative start-ups to showcase cutting-edge products and services.
Addressing the significance of the event, Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, stated, "Innovation & Entrepreneurship is the most important building block for Viksit Bharat @ 2047. Through this Summit, IIT Madras aspires to bring together young entrepreneurs, VCs, academia, industry, and government to march towards a Technology Superpower India."
Notable support for E-Summit 2024 comes from WestBridge Capital, the 1990 Alumni Batch of IIT Madras, SBI Start-up Branch, IIT Madras Research Park, and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd., underlining the event's significance.
Highlighting the transformative role of India's start-up ecosystem, Dr. Richa Agarwal, Faculty Advisor of E-Cell, IIT Madras, noted, "The upcoming E-Summit is a perfect opportunity for our budding entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative solutions for real-world challenges and seek out joint ventures, mentorship platforms, and funding opportunities."
E-Summit 2024 includes 'Elevate,' a pan-India fundraising competition, and the 'Bootcamp,' a Start-up Accelerator Program, supported by conglomerates like Aditya Birla Ventures and SIDBI, along with national incubators.
The event features 'Inspirit lectures' and 'Masterclasses' by industry leaders, including Ankur Warikoo, Anand Srinivasan, Virendra Gupta, Radhika Ghai, and others.
