Many health clubs, fitness studio, gyms and health & fitness related training centers have cropped up in the past ten years across the globe especially in India, meaning that many are taking on to fitness more seriously than ever resulting in specialized fitness trainers engaged to shape and develop fitness levels of individuals.    

Beyond being coach of a specialized sport, fitness training could be classified in to many spheres such as personal fitness training, group fitness training, strength & conditioning coach, sports conditioning specialist and many more. 

Very few into sports are much aware of such programmes that gives fair chance to earn substantially.

Trainers with nuances of the sport, understanding of exercise prescription and the power to motivate diverse individuals are likely bag in good money in this era.   

In India, a freshers pay package of a fitness trainer at health club or fitness studio would fetch anything between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per month, but experienced trainers are likely to anything up to Rs 30,000. A fitness trainer can work with individual clients one to one to improve fitness or health levels that could yield anything about Rs 30, 000 to Rs 50,000 per month.

Further beyond this, a fitness trainer with good experience with the ability design varied programmes to diverse client requirements can take up corporate professional training with professional sports bodies.

SPARRC, Indian Academy of Fitness Training, Gold Fitness training, Reebok, Classic Fitness Group, Institute for Sports & Fitness Development are some institutes in India providing training and certification.

In Tamil Nadu, apart from Physical Education institutions offering Physical Education programmes, Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation Deemed University, Salem and SPARRC, a Chennai based training institute are handy for fitness trainer freaks from Tamil Nadu.

There are few more institutes that offer weekend programmes to facilitate aspiring fitness trainers to equip with certification.

Further more, Tamil Nadu Physical Education Sports University offers Diploma, Certificate, UG, PG courses in sports and fitness, both through regular as well through distance education mode.   

Last but not least, scores of online studies are also available to equip with fitness trainer certification, but need to take care on selecting the institution.  

To conclude, opportunities for sports persons to excel are numerous, but to succeed in the industry requires basic understanding of science (anatomy and physiology), biomechanics, exercise prescription and fairly good experience in sports.
