Computer Integrated Manufacturing-
The functioning of Computer Integrated Manufacturing otherwise called CIM, is to direct the entire manufacturing unit through digital means under computer. The independent departments like Engineering, Production and Sales are computerized and then integrated. The shape of the article bought for the industry, plan and the price of the material are determined and then sent to the production unit so that it can be activated under the direct control of the computer is said to the CIM. CIM is the next stage of advanced technology like Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Robotics and Retrieval Systems. Its objective is to bring out a better product in to the market with the aid of computers in the production unit.
