Let us see about the examinations to be taken by those who want to study abroad.

First is GRE - the expansion is Graduate Record Examination. The questions will be set to test the language knowledge, Mathematics, and analytical methods.

GRE examinations are conducted by American Universities to know the educational ability of their applicants. The GRE marks are indispensable for candidates desirous of joining Postgraduate courses in the USA. This cannot be applied to studies related to Commerce, Law, and Medicine.

These are totally computer-generated questions and will be different for each of the students. The total mark is 1600. With GRE marks alone one cannot join a college. During admission, the colleges take into account several parameters and GRE marks are one such stricture.

ETS or Educational Testing Service organization, directed by the GRE Examination Board, has taken the responsibility for the conduct of these examinations. ETS is concerned with the Question Setting, Conduct of the Examination, and sending the Mark-statements to the examinees.

ETS has appointed the organization ‘Thomson Prometric’ to conduct these examinations in India.
