About 2 lakh Indian students in USA -

According to a recent report by 'Open Doors', around 2 lakh Indian students have opted US as destination for higher education in the academic year 2021-22.

Institute of International Education:

Every year, IIE, Institute of International Education based in US publishes the report 'Open Doors'. Founded in 1919, IIE has been conducting statistical surveys of international students in the United States since then.

To add on, apart from closely working with US State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs since 1972, it also publishes data on the number of international students enrolled in US universities and English education programs.

19 percent more:

The Open Doors 2022 report includes information on international students enrolled in American higher education institutions in the US and international students studying online from various countries around the world, as well as details about those who received Optional Practical Training - OPT in 2021-22. This statistics is 19 percent higher than the previous year.

Among over the 10 lakh foreign students enrolled in the US, about 21 percent are Indian students.
