Medical field going through lot of changes - 28-May-2015
Due to the technological revolution, people are immediately able to access all that's happening around the world. Medical reports of patients are sent immediately to relatives who are living abroad. Immediately they consult a super specialist over there and rise many questions regarding the entire treatment process.
Changes in the syllabus too:
Today, more and more importance is given to protect from diseases before it attacks. Instead of curing diseases, the cost of protecting individual would be certainly less. Government alone is not responsible towards providing medical protection; it is also the responsibility of every individual.
Gradually, both public and students have greater sense of awareness with added information in the field of Medicine due to technological revolution.
Understanding the need, Indian Medical Council upgrades the syllabus of medical studies depending upon necessity.
MBBS alone is not enough:
Todays, students take very clear decision after careful planning about choosing their studies. MBBS program is a primary study about basic comprehensive composition of subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Pathology.
In todays context, it is not just enough to posses just an MBBS and be a simple doctor. It has become important to complete specialization and also complete super specialization. However, today many sub-divisions beyond specialization such as Cardio, Neuro, and Ortho are becoming highly imperative. It has become necessity for super-specialization in such sub-divisions. Todays, educational institutions prefer only students who are prepared for the changes happening in the sphere of medicine.
Other needed studies:
Apart from MBBS, other needed Para -medical studies are Dental, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Nursing. New studies that are becoming popular are BSc ( Sports Medicine), MBA (Hospital Management), Environmental Studies and Speech Language Therapy.
