Sivakami Ammaiyar Memorial Girl Children Protection Scheme-
An initial deposit of Rs.22,200 will be made by the Government in the name of the child in Transport Development Finance Corporation, in cases of families with only one girl child and no other children and if either of the parents has undergone sterilization before the age of 35. The interest accrued from this deposit will take (Five year) care of a monthly payment of a minimum of Rs.150 throughout the period of school education of the girl. A terminal benefit will be given to the girl at the end of 20 years, which would enable her to pursue higher studies or discharge marriage expenses.
For families with two girl-children and no male child and if either of the parents has undergone sterilisation, an initial deposit of Rs.15,200 will be made for each girl child by the Government. The interest accrued from this deposit will take care (Five year) of a monthly payment of a minimum of Rs.150 throughout the period of school education of the girl. A terminal benefit will be given to the girl at the end of 20 years, which would enable her to pursue higher studies or defray marriage expenses.
