Quality in Educational Institution Required-

"Though education in India is good, special facilities are available only in foreign educational institutions. Excellent educational institutions, Professors and students are found there. But in India it is very minimal," says, Dr.P. Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor of Alagappa University, Karaikudi in Sivagangai District.

There are more than 400 Universities, Engineering colleges and thousands of colleges functioning in India. Even then the students find less opportunity to pursue their studies. The quality of education given in India is also sub-standard. The Government and the Educationists pretty well know this fact. To set this aright, the Central Government’s University Grants Commission {UGC} along with the Tamilnadu Government has taken steps to launch districtwise Engineering colleges and Universities. Having had their education here the students are reluctant to work in India and prefer to take up jobs abroad.

Quality Educational Institutions Needed

The attitude of the educated people in India should change. Even the students who had received advanced Education do not have communicative skills in English or any other language. On the contrary, foreign students casually speak many languages To get better standard of education the country requires competent teachers and institutions with very good infrastructure. Only then our country will achieve a total growth in education

Future Plans

This University has plans to start soon courses like Bio-Electronics, Informatics, Nano Science, Veterinary Health Studies and Management Studies. All the departments will have net connections. Online education in M.BA. and in other P.G.courses will be offered University will build a world standard research centre in science at the cost of Rs.20 crores. This centre will have ten floors, where researches related to human beings and animals will be conducted. Another separate research centre for Management, Social science, Rural Development, Marine and Marine Engineering will also be established. So said the Vice-Chancellor.

Dr.Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor of Alagappa University is a graduate in Bio-Technology and Vetinary Science .He is a Life-Member in New York Science Education Centre in America. He has 30 years of experience as a Professor and a Researcher. He has published more than 41 research papers in international journals, 25 in national journals and 6 research books. He has participated in many national seminars.
