Over 72,000 primary teachers to be recruited in UP- 15-Sep-2011

Lucknow:  In a bid to ensure availability of teachers in primary schools in Uttar Pradesh, the state government announced its decision to fill over 72,000 vacant posts.
   
A proposal to start recruitment for 72,825 vacant post of teachers was approved by the state cabinet in its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mayawati, an official spokesman said.
   
"The decision will not only ensure availability of teachers in schools, but also help in qualitative improvement in primary education," he said.
   
The cabinet also approved a proposal regarding rice purchase policy and procedure under levy scheme.
   
Besides, it approved a proposal for selection of private developers on competitive tariff based bidding for allotment of minor hydro power projects identified by Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited and NEDA in private sector.
   
A proposal to set up 660 MW super critical unit in public sector at a cost of Rs 4826.5 crore in place of closed power house of Harduaganj thermal power project was also approved.
   
The cabinet also gave its nod to a proposal to purchase 300 MW power from Power Trading Corporation and 2456 MW from Reliance Power Limited as decided by the Energy Task Force.
