The dramatic art of encountering criticism and accusations!- 13-Aug-2015
All those born as human beings are criticized or falsely accused by somebody some time or the other. Taking criticism in the right spirit is itself a great skill.
When the criticism of others on us does not have any solid reason, it is really good neglect and keep moving forward. But, the problem is that we fail to neglect it and keep going by. We ensure to give them back the same amount of insult or even more. It is really foolish to give back tit-for-tat. A negative action cannot be overcome by a negative reaction.
Today, nobody has the attitude to accept their flaws. If there is any mistake have the heart to accept it. It changes out to be a good opportunity to correct our flaws. Every time when we are accused by others, we see them as our dreaded enemies. We react as if we are hit by a ball of fire. But on the contrary, we should be happy for being criticized or accused. Criticism is a sign to realize that we are being noted and also feel proud that we are being valued.
Erebus is currently the most active volcano in Antarctica. When this volcano erupts, it spews out ash containing various minerals and rocks among which gold is also said to be found. Similarly, when your adversaries lash out criticism or accusations of lava in anger, you should realize that the lava contains precious gold. Consider all your adversaries and enemies as Erebus volcano.
Accept the facts in the accusations made by others on you. Do not get angry on them pushing the truth aside. Bharathi, the popular Tamil poet in one of his poem says that life and hope prevails even while living amidst enemies.
Instead having the urge to hit back at those who accused, it is good to sincerely retrospect over what actually they had meant. It would help us to weed away our negatives as well as do our work more carefully.
We will turn everything beneficial and make good use of our enemys abuses, criticism and false accusations. We will be drawn to the gold splinters that are thrown out of the volcano rather than focusing on the hot lava that is spewed out.
