So far, I, who had high hopes and pleasant dreams about teaching profession, that particular appointment order gave me great amount of disappointment.

Yes, it stated me to join as a Tamil language teacher in a Kannada medium school situated in the Karnataka border.

Naturally, I being highly involved in Tamil, the Kannada language spoken around, seemed too bitter to me. For a man who was expecting haven of flowers the order seem to provide a parched desert land.

Following is my Headmaster, Mr. Lokeshahs  experience.   We, who initially get frustrated at the sight things that hates us yet comes across our eyes frequently. Slowly, later on, we develop compassion and sympathy towards it; and later we accept it.

Similarly, the same change happened in my life too.

I who hated Kannada, gradually, started to learn it. As days went on, I fell in love with Kannada. I started to share messages from news paper in Kannada with my friends. Slowly, Kannada language started get inside my mouth. Today, Kannada language is a great friend of mine.

Every minute, I gratefully think about my headmaster, Mr. Lokeshah.   He frequently used to quote the famous saying of Abraham Lincoln, Dont entrust your children to a learned teacher, but entrust your children to a learning teacher. These words of wisdom are the sole motive behind me pursuing studies even now and willing to seek interest in gathering new information.

Even in this era, many students trust the words of the teacher rather than parents.  If parents try to correct something that teacher had taught wrong, the students go on to say all that their teacher had taught was absolutely right. Hence, the teachers, before teaching something new to the students, must make thorough research about the particular topic and then proceed to teach them in the most understanding manner.

The true mark of a good teacher is to update always.

Every day, I try to update myself.
