17-Nov-2008
While addressing a seminar organized by CII-Confederation of Indian Industries-an
Indian Association, Pitroda alleged that the Indian Education Department is in a state of confusion. He further declared that development or expansion and the means to attain education seem to throw up a challenge to the reformation in the Department of Education. He feels that it is essential to boost growth in the general as well as in the vocational education. It is not enough, in the field of education, if 5% mounts to 10%; there should be a steady growth.
The youth population in India will top the world in another ten years. To enable
them to get various career opportunities and achieve socio economic growth, it is important to plan multi-level revamping of education to suit the pace of population then.
The industrialists who participated in this seminar also pointed out that it is quite difficult to procure skilled laborers in India. The Seminar emphasized that it is the duty of the industries to nurture skilled workers with the back up of Government.
