Information regarding job opportunities for Airmen in Air force appears in the news papers and in the weekly employment news. Candidates should go directly to participate in this selection process along with their original certificates on the specified date.

Different level written examinations are conducted.

For Group X (technical Airman post) questions for written exams are asked from English, Physics and Mathematics.

For Group 'Y' Airmen position, questions are asked from General Knowledge, English and Reasoning. Examination for Group 'Y' Medical Assistant post comprises questions from English, Chemistry and Biology. Al these questions will be objective type. For educational trainers and Music division of Airmen job, questions to test their skills in their related subject / field are asked.

For those who successfully complete the written examinations, physical fitness tests are conducted. It is mandatory to pass this test. The participant should run 1.6 Km within 6 to 8 minutes.

Next stage is the direct interview for all those who have passed both the written and physical fitness test. Finally, all those who get through the interview must pass the medical test.

For Group X (technical Airman post) it is neccessary to get above 50% in English, Physics and Mathematics or have a Diploma in /Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/ Automobile/Computer science/Instrumentation Technology and IT. Applicant should be between 17 and 22 years of age.

For the Educational segment candidates completed BA/BSc/BCom/ and BEd with 50% marks are eligible to apply or B.Ed candidates with two years experience and Post graduate candidates with Maths/Physics/Computer science or MCA or MA English degree are also eligible to apply. The age for the first division must be between 20 and 25 and for the next division must be between 20 and 28.

Group Y and Group Z candidates need to possess skill in their related field. For the former group should be between 17 and 22 years of age and for the latter, they should be between 17 and 35. In general, they should have the height 152.5cm, Height and weight must be proportional to age.

Last but not the least, a good vision and a minimum chest expansion of 5cm is neccessary.
