Importance to job oriented courses!- 26-May-2017

I could recollect the words of my father to start an educational institution, when I was pondering whether to take up a job or to startup business after I had just completed my Under Graduation from Pachiappas college.

Accordingly, I started pharmacy course that was then popular study in a rented house. The college that was started in the year 1992-93 with 23 students blossomed into Vels University in the year 2008. Now, as we are entering the 25 year of service in the field of education, its a proud moment when we think that 25,000 students are studying in our institutions.

I can truly understand that only when a boy completes his studies, he will be able to uplift his family. As, my family situation was too the same when
I finished my college education. Hence, all our educational institutions offer only courses that provide good job opportunities. Studies that offer job opportunities are Biotechnology, Nursing, Catering, Engineering, Marine, Physiotherapy and Nautical Science.

According to me providing education is a service. My aim is to provide education right from LKG to Phd under one roof. My dream for Vels University is that it should be one among the top 10 educational institutions in India and one among the top 50 intuitions in the world. Soon, we are expanding our education service to Telengana and Andhra Pradesh. My desire is to open schools that provide education in all the boards such as ICSE to CBSE.

This success did not come to me easily. However, in those days opening an educational institution was much easy.  Today, opening an educational institution is not an easy task for anyone who is new to this field.  Getting funds for building the infrastructure and research laboratories is not an easy task.

As for as private educational institutions are concerned, its easy to bring up new buildings and buy new equipments. But, gets delayed in obtaining appropriate recognition. My aspiration is that government should come forward to provide necessary recognition to private educational institutions swiftly.
