Anakapalle is a big commercial centre with considerable population. Till 1953 many of the students could not have university education without going to Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Vizianagaram. So to provide education facilities for the students of this town and nearby places the Merchant's Association had venture the philanthropic work of starting A.M.A.L.College. There has been a great rush for admission into this college. Many students were to go without admission.
