VIT - Vellore Institute of Technology Entrance Exam-
Introduction
Admissions to the VIT MCA/M.Tech program for the year 2009-10 will be made on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the VIT entrance exam conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology. The Vellore Institute of Technology is one of the most prestigious institutes of Technical education in India. It offers 17 undergraduate programmes and 28 postgraduate programmes.
It is located in Tamil Nadu, the Southern most state of India. The VIT campus is spread over 250 acres of land on the Ranipet- Katpadi road at Vellore that is situated between two important cities of India- Chennai and Bangalore.
Eligibility Criteria of VIT Entrance Exam 2009:
For admission to the MCA/M.Tech program of the Vellore Institute of Technology candidates need to be graduate in the relevant field with at least 50% marks from a recognized University in India. However candidates who are appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
Test Centers:
The VIT Entrance Exam for admission to the MCA/M.Tech program will be held in Allahbad, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, New Delhi, Pune & Vellore.
Obtaining the Application form of VIT Entrance Exam:
The application form and all other details of the MCA/M.Tech degree program can be obtained against cash payment of Rs. 900/ from the designated branches of State Bank of India and General Post Office. For obtaining the application form from the VIT University at Vellore and the administrative office they need to pay the amount through a demand draft of the same amount drawn in favor of Vellore Institute of Technology payable at Vellore.
The application forms can also be obtained by sending a demand draft of Rs 750/ drawn in favor of "Vellore Institute of Technology" payable at Vellore to Admissions Officer, VIT University, Vellore-632014. Candidates should clearly indicate their name and postal address while sending the draft.
Submission of the Application Form:
Duly filled application forms should reach the Admissions Officer, VIT University, Vellore-632014 on or before 23 .03. 2009.
