At a time when agricultural land is diminishing at a rapid pace, technological systematic study on agricultural and other related topics can bring out greater development in the field of agriculture.
With the objective providing world class education in agriculture, Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TNAU), established in Kovai is ranked 68th by the National Institutional Ranking Frame work (NIRF) that functions directly under Ministry of Human Resource Development; 44th in the rank list of Indian Universities; and ranked 1st among the Agricultural Universities in the state.

Educational qualification: Student should have passed 12th in the science stream. Although certain courses require Physics and Chemistry, few other courses require Biology and Maths. More details are available on the TNAU official website.
Special quotas: Special quotas are provided for children of ex-servicemen, freedom fighters, sportsman, differently abled students and NRIs.
Admission process: First, rank list is generated based on the marks obtained in the plus two common examinations. Then on the basis of rank list, students are provided admission counseling through online. Admission counseling will be held separately for students applying through special quota.
Certificate verification for all the students will be held at TNAU campus in Kovai.
How to apply: Applying is possible only through online mode on the official website. Students coming under special quota should apply directly.
