Chennai: Technip in India and Indian Institute of Technology Madras signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a broad partnership in various areas, including research collaborations with the Ocean, Civil and Metallurgical & Materials Engineering departments; creation of a postgraduate program with a focus on generic engineering; lectures by faculty and industry practitioners; continuing PG education for technical professionals; placement and internships for IITM graduates and students; and various sponsorship opportunities in the context of research enhancement and corporate social responsibility.
Present in 48 countries with 40,000 employees, Technip is a world leader in Project Management, Engineering and Construction for the "Energy" industry with more than 50 years of know-how and experience on land and at sea.
The MOU was signed in the presence of Mr. Philippe Barril, President & COO, Technip. The signatories were Prof. Nagarajan (Dean, International & Alumni
Relations) on behalf of IIT Madras and Mr. Samik Mukherjee, Country Head & MD on behalf of Technip in India.
Both parties expressed confidence that this partnership would further consolidate the existing relationships between Technip and IITM.
