TN Engineering counseling for general category gets underway- 7-Jul-2014
Chennai: With the Minister for Higher Education, Pallaniappan inaugurating today, engineering counseling for general category in Tamil Nadu got underway at 10:00 AM after Supreme Court had asked Anna University to reschedule the entire admission process dates.
Earlier, ten days ago, the country's Apex court had told that entire process of admission would not be fair and right until AICTE approves application for colleges and courses in the state and the country that were pending at the original counseling date.
Today, counseling takes place for students with cut- off of 200 to 198.5.
Out of the top 10 candidates, 5 opted for Computer Science (CSE), 3 for Electronics & Communication (ECE) and 2 for Mechanical Engineering (ME).
Guindy and PSG Engineering colleges were the top priority colleges for the students as they felt that the infrastructure and placements were good.
Counselling is likely to go on until 7:00 PM today.
