National Institute of Design - NID, is an autonomous educational institution operating under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India that has acquired international prominence in the field of Design Education and Research.
Importance:
Declared an educational institution of national importance as per the law enacted in the Parliament in 2014, it is also recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization.
Beyond offering courses in various disciplines based on design, the institute facilitates in making Logos, Posters, and Animation catering to various design needs of government, private and corporate organizations. Besides providing short-term and long-term courses, the institute has become an indispensable part of the design industry through national and international level workshops and seminars.

Must be born on or after 1st July 1991. Age relaxation is possible for SC, ST, OBC, and differently-abled categories. Should have completed 3 or 4 years UG degree or 4 years Diploma course in specified disciplines from any recognized educational institutions in India. Students who are currently in their final year of UG studies can also apply for M.Sc.

Selection Process: Eligible candidates are selected through preliminary followed by main test known as Design Aptitude Test (DAT).
