Indian Institute of Tourism and Travels is an autonomous educational institution functioning under Ministry of Tourism, central Govt.
This is a premier institute in India offering courses related to Tourism, Travel and Research.
This educational institution was started in the year 1983 at Delhi. In the last few years, it has created a special mark for itself and attained good reputation. The Ministry of tourism has permitted this institution to conduct state wise training across the country. From 1992, this education institution is functioning at Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
It has training centers Gwalior, Bhuvenshvar, Delhi, Goa and in several parts of the country. The IITTM at Gwalior offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in divisions like Tourism and Travels, and Service International Business.
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) studies is available in section like Tourism and Travels, and Service International Business at the training centre in Bhuvanshvar. The center in Delhi provides PGDM in Tourism and Leisure.
These courses that has obtained AICTE recognition are equivalent to MBA. It is essential to write an entrance examination to join these courses. The fees obtained for these courses are anything between Rs1, 30, 000/- to Rs 2, 00, 000/.
This 20-month course is provided in four semesters. This educational institution provides several short-term courses for working personnels. However, it doesnt have any UG courses. Those students joining here also get free education on foreign education. Those students who are willing can join this study.
This institution that has completed its silver jubilee, is expanding its boundaries to International trade and Service apart from Tourism. It has separate hostels for girls and boys. However, hostel facility is available only in few places. Students from all the state are admitted here. Those who complete their studies here are sure to get employed.
