National sports seminars-
Tiruchi: A one-day national conference on Physical Education, Sports and the Art of Well-Being would be held by the Department of Physical Education at Bishop Heber College on March 20.
Addressing the press, Director of Physical Education of the college, L.C. John said that more than 100 papers would be presented during the conference, which would be inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University M. Ponnavaikko.
Training, nutrition, medicine, anthropometry, sports and yoga, psychology and sociology, and sports and unethical practice would be the other sub-themes of the UGC-sponsored sports seminar.
Similarly the Department of Physical Education of the Bharathidasan University would conduct a national conference also sponsored by the UGC, on Role of Sports Sciences and Technology in Enhancing Sports Performance on March 21 at Academic Staff College, Bharathidasan University, Khajamalai campus.
The Head, Department of Physical Education, K. Chandrasekaran, who was also present, said that the sub-themes of the conference comprise anthropometry, bio-mechanics, bio-chemistry, journalism, medicine, management, physiology, psychology & sociology, technology, training, and sports & yoga.
