Hospitality is a swiftly growing industry in India. The human resource has not expanded in this field according to the growth.  These days, there is lot of commutation through luxury ships. 

Several education institutions in India offer Hotel management related course.  Though they provided fundamentals in hospitality, but they dont provided the hospitality required in the ships.

In order to fulfill this need, Arc Shipping and Management, along with Indian Tourism Corporation has introduced Cruise hospitality course. It provides knowledge about life in ship, mannerism and etiquette, safety tips and crisis action.

As this course comprises of classroom teaching and practical training, it includes ship journey. As, this course is related to sea and the ships, it is offered in Goa. In the first few days, the students feel little nervous and frightened, but soon the fear goes off.
 
This course provides training on the ways and means to behave on the ships. To join in this course, it is essential to have completed UG studies in Hotel Management. The duration of this course is four months. The fee for this course is Rs 23, 000/-. This is a four-week course. 

To those who complete this course, the Indian Tourism Development Corporation provides jobs. They are appointed as managers or assistance in catering department. The initial salary provided is Rs25, 000/-. However, it is told that, it is possible get around Rs 50, 000 as tips alone.
