Candidates having written 'NEET' who are interested can get admission in alternative medicine courses which are becoming popular in recent times like Siddha Medicine, Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathy courses.

Courses Offered:

BSMS, -  Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery 

B.A.M.S., - Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery 

B.U.M.S., - Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery 

B.H.M.S., - Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery 

Duration of Study: Five and a half years with one year internship.

Qualifications: 12th standard with eligible marks in science subjects and must have obtained the required marks in 'NEET UG -2023' examination. Admission is carried out based on the prepared rank list. 

Colleges and Seats:

Seats in government colleges, 65 to 85 percent of seats in self-financed colleges, and 50 to 85 percent of seats in minority self-financed colleges are filled through counseling conducted by the Tamil Nadu government. 15 percent seats are reserved for all India level admissions. Need to apply separately for this.

Reservation:

General category � 31 percent

Backward- 26.5 percent

Backward Classes (Muslim) - 3.5 percent

Most Backward - 20 percent

Scheduled Castes � 18 percent

Tribals � 1 percent

Admission is carried out on the basis of reservation.

Tuition Fee:

Students who get admission in BSMS, BAMS, BHMS courses in private educational institutes will have to pay 1 lakh 25 thousand rupees per year only as tuition fees. Students should also note that tuition fee is very low in 

government colleges.
