Educational Qualifications:

For admission to M.A., Tamil, the applicant must have passed any undergraduate degree from an institution recognized by the Department of Higher Education and University Grants Commission. In the UG, it is necessary to have studied Tamil as a language subject. Students who are currently waiting for final year exam results can also apply. However, admission is based on the overall pass percentage. 

Towards admission to Integrated MA, the candidate must have passed 12th standard from an educational institution recognized by the Department of School Education. It is necessary to have studied Tamil as a language subject. Students admitted to this programme have the option of exiting with a bachelor's degree at the end of three years.

Age Limit:

To join MA Tamil programme must be below 27 years of age. However, must be under 21 years of age to join in Integrated Master's Degree. A relaxation of 5 years is allowed for students belonging to categories such as SC, SCA, ST, BC, BCM, MBC and DNC.
