In line with the 'National Education Policy-2020' introduced by the Indian Ministry of Education, which advocates the dissemination of higher education in regional languages to foster creativity and critical thinking, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has initiated a noteworthy project. 

The objective is to develop technical books in a diverse array of languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Telugu, Punjabi, Odia, Assamese, Malayalam, and Urdu.

A total of 20 courses have been meticulously identified, encompassing 11 at the Diploma level and 9 at the Degree level, mirroring the first-year engineering curriculum. Proficient writers from various educational institutions, along with skilled translators, have been enlisted to author the original content in English. Universities are then assigned the task of delivering high-quality textbooks in the designated languages.

Moving into the second year, an impressive selection of 88 courses has been curated, comprising 42 degree courses and 46 diploma courses across five major fields: Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Civil Engineering. 

These courses are initially drafted in English and subsequently translated into the 12 specified Indian languages.

Learning Outcomes: At the commencement of each unit, clear learning outcomes are outlined to guide students on what to expect upon completing that specific unit.

Balanced Approach: Providing a balanced blend of student-centric and teacher-centric content, the books enhance subject matter clarity.

Visual Enhancements: To bolster understanding, the inclusion of figures, tables, and software screenshots is a thoughtful addition.

AICTE's diligent efforts aim to furnish outcome-based technical education books in a multitude of Indian languages, benefiting students and teachers across all technical institutes in India. Interested individuals can download these books from the AICTE website.
