The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) is a prominent institution in India offering education, research, and training in various aspects of mass communication.

Establishment: IIMC was established in New Delhi in 1965 under the Union Ministry of Communications and Broadcasting.


Objective: Initially set up to train Central Information Service Officers, the institute has evolved to cater to the changing landscape of mass communication, offering courses in radio, TV, print media, digital media, journalism, advertising, and public relations.


Campuses: Apart from its headquarters in New Delhi, IIMC has campuses in several states across India including Odisha, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Jammu, and Kerala.


Courses Offered: IIMC offers various postgraduate diploma courses including:


PG Diploma in Journalism (English, Hindi, Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, Urdu)


PG Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism (English, Hindi)


PG Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations (English, Hindi)


PG Diploma in Digital Media


Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's Degree from any recognized Indian institution.


The maximum age limit for the General category is 25 years, while for SC/ST or differently abled categories, it's 30 years.


Admission Process: Admission to IIMC is based on the Common University Entrance Examination for PG (CUET) conducted by the National Examinations Agency. Applicants need to apply for this exam through the official website provided.


Note: There's a separate entrance test for PG Diploma courses in Journalism offered in languages such as Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, and Urdu.
