Coimbatore: A one-day workshop cum training programme on "Jal Kranti Abhiyan" (Water Revolutionary Campaign), launched in June last to consolidate water conservation and management in the Country, was organised in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here.
The objective of the campaign was to strengthen grass root involvement of all stakeholders including Panchayati Raj Institutions and local bodies in the water security and development schemes, a TNAU release said.
TNAU Vice-Chancellor K Ramasamy inaugurated the workshop in which Central Water Commission Chief engineer, J Candrasekhar Iyer and Head, Central Ground Water Board, Chennai, A Subbaraj were among those who participated.
