Mumbai: The Western Railway has sought to alert gullible job seekers from fallacious online advertisements through which applicants are being lured to apply for recruitment of constables in Railway Protection Force by informing aspirants that the last date to apply for the post was March 1, 2016.

Indian Railways, in the month of January this year had come out with a job notification to recruit 2030 female constables in the Railway Protection Force (RPF), following which RPF issued an employment notification for selection of eligible staff for Female (lady) Constable posts on its official site www.rpfonlinereg.in and in Employment News.

RPF is in process to recruite 1827 female constables in RPF and 203 female constables in RPSF.

With a view to alert job seekers, the WR has issued a statement saying, "It has been noticed that some websites are advertising fictitious advertisement regarding mass recruitment of constables in Railway Protection Force."

"It is clarified that neither such an advertisement has been issued nor is being processed from the Railways. Therefore, it is advised that such advertisements are fictitious and must be ignored, the statement added.

Speaking to press, a senior WR official said, "It seems that this could be the handiwork of fake job racket which we bust time to time."

The officer also added that there was a notification for the recruitment, and the last date of application is over.

"But we have come to know that few portals with malafide intentions are still advising job seekers to apply, while the fact is that the only advertisement under process is for recruitment of 2030 Lady Constables in RPF/RPSF which has been notified in employment news, national dailies and in official website of Railways...and the last date of submission of application was March 1, 2016."

Railway Protection Force works under the Indian Railways and is entrusted with the duty to protect railway passengers, passenger area and railway property. Currently it has a strength of over 65000 personnel.
