New evaluation process in varsities of Tamil Nadu- 5-Dec-2009

All the universities in Tamil Nadu are soon to follow CGPA evaluation process.

As a result, the current evaluation process would soon be changed. This decision was taken in a recent conference held at Chennai for all the controllers of exanimations. 

They decided to implement this new evaluation process from the current academic itself.  This, CGPA method is used in the universities at the international level. Premier institutions like IIT are also following this system in India.

According to the new system the students would be provided Grade Point Average (GPA) a point grading at the end of every semester. A comprehensive grading that is known as CGPA are provided to the students at the end of 3-year UG course or 2-year PG courses. Significant feature of this system is that student passing all the papers within the specified duration of the course are only provided with good points, distinction, which is the first grade.
