IITJEE examination for the year 2010- 9-Dec-2009

JEE is going to be held for the admission to UG studies in the IITs for the year 2010.

JEE is to be held for the admission to UG studies for the academic year 2010 in IITs at Bhuvnshwar, Mumbai, Delhi, Gandhi Nagar, Guwathi, Hyderbad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Chennai, Pondy, Patna and Roorkee.

Date of examination: 11, April 2010

First day: From 9:00 AM to 12:00Noon

Second day:  From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The entrance examination comprises two question papers. Each paper is of 3 hours duration. Both papers consist of questions separately from Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. All the questions are objective type pattern. The question papers will be both in Hindi and English.

Eligibility criteria for JEE:

Date of Birth:  Applicants of general, backward and schedule classes should have been born after 1st Oct 1985.  Applicants of adhi-dravidar, schedule tribes and physically challenged should be born after 1st Oct 1980.

Plus two-completion year: Should have passed plus two or its equivalent in the 1st October 2008 or 2009.

Marks percentage:  Students of general, backward and schedule class should have obtained minimum of 60% of marks in plus two exams.

Students of aadhi-dravidar, schedule tribes and physically challenged should have obtained a minimum of 55% of marks in plus two exams.

Important note: JEE examinations can be attempted only twice consecutively. If you had written in 2009, it is possible to appear for the 2010 exams.

Reservations:  15% for aadhi-dravidars, 7.5% for schedule tribes, 27% for backward class and 3% for physically challenged are provided.

Applying: Application can be send through online or through post.

1. Online:  Persons applying through online should apply through the website given down below. Examination fees can be paid through credit card, debit card and through demand drafts.

Examination fees: Fees for students of General, Backward and Schedule class is Rs 450/-.      
        
Other applicants- Rs 900/-.

2. Offline: Persons applying this way can get the application at some specific bank branches along with prospectus. 

Examination fees: Fee for students of General, Backward and ScheduleClass is -   Rs 500/-. Light green colour cover is provided for this category. 

Other applicants- Rs 1000/-. This category is provided with light purple colour cover with prospectus containing syllabus, examination centers, counseling fees details.

3. Help line:  (For chennai region only) Persons who do not know to how use computers, internet can apply through help line. About 40 CMC help line centers will be set up throughout Chennai region.
