Therefore, we should understand that our bio-data plays very important role to get a job. How to design a Bio-data? Here are some tips towards it?
Shortlist the understanding that you possess about the industry you are about to join. Mention the skills you possess for that particular industry at the beginning of bio-data. The person going to shortlist bio-data would be well experienced in that particular field. Hence, many persons assort the bio data through key search words, before reaching the particular person. Therefore, its very important to draft the resume in the correct order.
It is vital to mention the qualification related to the applying post, when mentioning about educational qualification. It is very important to point out about any earlier experiences in the area same that you are applying. Mentioning about experience obtained in the chronological descending order is very important.
Mentioning experience in numerical order is absolutely wrong. But, you can mention any exemplary achievement or the goals attained in numeric form. Fund status, budget, fund generation, tenure, problem solving, machine installations, development in functioning and other accomplishments related to the job could also be mentioned in numerical order.
You should be able to sell yourself through your Bio-data. Care should be taken not to sell yourself cheap. Bio data of a person with 5 years of experience may run up to one page, while the bio data of a person with good experience can go up to 2 pages and those with 15 years of experience need to be within 3 pages. Avoid writing too elaborate about the project that you had done in your college. Dont use the English articles a, an, the. Similarly, avoid using the word I when you are writing about yourself.
Avoid writing social security number, marriage details, health, citizenship, scholarships and awards obtained, unrelated information, details about hobbies, second email Id, permanent address, recommendations and previous salary.
Get opinion from one of your close friend who would give precise remarks about your bio data.
Ensure that the bio data does carry any mistakes. Repeated reading can make the bio data perfect and flawless.
Take a laser printout in a good white paper, especially in special bond paper. Avoid hand written, typed, dot matrix printed, inkjet printed, color paper bio data. Generally, the bio data can be xeroxed several times. It can be faxed and scanned. Hence, the quality and the colour (Only white) of the paper are very much important.
