Haryana makes teachers transfer policy simpler- 2-Jun-2017

Chandigarh: Teachers suffering with cancer or those who are 100 per cent visually handicapped will get posting of their convenience in Haryana, the state Cabinet decided here.
 
The Cabinet meeting, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, approved some modifications in the teachers' transfer policy with the aim to make it more effective and simpler.
 
The notable change is making exemption in policy for 100 per cent visually handicapped, cancer patients and paralytic and 100 per cent motor function handicapped people, who have undergone bypass operation, and persons who are undergoing dialysis, an official release said here.
    
The state cabinet also decided to enact a legislation enabling the Haryana government to bring out one or more 'One Time Settlement' schemes of Excise and Taxation Department for recovery of outstanding dues under the various Acts, before the implementation of the GST.
 
Considering the urgency of the matter and as the state Assembly is not in session, it was decided to promulgate an ordinance for the implementation of the decision.
 
According to the draft of the ordinance, one or more schemes will be launched for settlement of outstanding bills and matter connected therewith or incidental thereto covering payment of tax, interest penalty or any other dues under the relevant Acts related to any period before April 1.
 
This will be subject to such conditions and restrictions as may be specified in the scheme, covering period of limitation, rate of tax, tax, interest, penalty or any other dues payable by a person or an importer or a proprietor or an owner or a class of dealers or classes of dealers or all dealers.
 
In another decision, the cabinet, approved a proposal to change the rate of municipal tax in municipal corporations, councils and committees from 5 paisa per unit of electricity consumed to 2 per cent of the consumed electricity bill amount.
