Engineering is considered as leading studies that provides excellent standard of living.

National Institute of Technology (NIT) is one of the premier education institutions in the entire country for engineering studies. Formerly known as Regional Engineering Colleges (REC) have been upgraded to National Institute of Technology.  NITs function in places like Allahabad, Bhopal, Kozhikode, Dhurgapur, Humirpur, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jamshedpur, Khureshthra, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Roorkela, Silsar, Srinagar, Surat, Surathkal, Trichy, and Warangal. An All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is conducted for students to join in NITs, Indian Institute of Information Technology and other Deemed Universities.  

Further more, based on the marks obtained students are admitted in engineering colleges in the state.  Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts AIEEE for engineering courses.  Every year about 5 lakh students vie for 16,000 seats in the colleges across the state.
