In the recent days India is planning to set very high standards in the field of Education by inviting foreign educational institution to Indian soil.

In a recent statement at a seminar concerning Higher Education, the HRD Minister Kapil Sibal firmly stated that both, the central and state governments are working together towards bringing a colossal change in the Educational field. However, in the speech he reiterated that it is imperative to give equal importance to higher education as we provide to primary educations.

He said, more than 22 crore students take up school education in our country every year, but the sad story is that only 2.6 crore students only go up for higher education. If we need to see rich dividends through education, it would be only possible through increasing the number of persons enrolling in higher education.

The start of a healthy relationship between educationists and industrialists would facilitate students to get practical training, told NASSCOM President, Som Mittal.

The PMs Principal Secretary told as India lags behind in higher education it is not possible to develop in the area of Copyrights, whereas weeny countries like Japan, South Korea and Israel are way ahead of us in this segment.

The Union Minister also told, soon, a separate body for higher education is likely to come into existence that would be empowered to grant recognition for foreign universities. Only those foreign Universities that corroborate our education policy would be permitted to step into Indian soil.

Apart from ensuring foreign universities participating in India, the government is inclined to initiate a separate body to provide finance for this purpose, the Minister told.

Almost immediately, Boston University of America is likely to setup its outreach in India, which needs a special mention.
