Rajkot: City based Genius group of schools has tied up with Bourne Grammar (BG) School of  London for a student exchange program. As many as 18 students including 12 boys and six  girls of standard 7th onwards and two teaches will be part of the first batch that will leave for London in March, Dharmendra Mehta, chairman of the Genius Group of Schools said .

Talking to media persons here, Mehta said the  exchange programme will enable our school students to visit BG school in  the United KIndgdom to interact with students there and know about the education system as also cultural, social conditions there.

Permanent video conferencing facility will be set up for the students of the two schools, Mehta said. J P Maddox, Principal of BG school said it has  entered into its first tie up with a school in an Asian country and added Genius school was selected because that was the first school to approach them for the tie up. We were looking for other schools in India and other countries as well, he said.

The first batch from Rajkot will depart on March 27 and will spend nearly a fortnight there and then a batch from GB school will visit Genius school here. The students will have to bear fifty per cent of the expenses while remaining expense will be taken care of by the school, Mehta added.
