Bio-Technology, Bio-Engineering graduates have a lot of opportunities that would land them in nice, promising, flourishing jobs. SRM University hosted a seminar on the Bio-Technology and its job prospects. Professor Thangavelu handled the Seminar.

Rendering the lecture, he said : Bio-Technology is the implementation of technology in various fields such as Agriculture, Medicine, Research so that the human society could get benefited. He said that the, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates' Charitable Trust, has planned to invest millions of dollar in developing the department of Bio-Technology in India.

Coping up with the increase in the population, there is also a steep increase in the new and threatening diseases. Only the Bio-Technology field can find solutions to such deadly diseases by inventing new medicines. Most of the medicines that we use today were invented some 50 years ago. We need to invent more medicines at this time.

The use of Technology to find medicines that would demand low cost, but at the same time would help huge no of people is the aim of this field. Students who pass out with under graduation in Bio-Technology are sure to get jobs with payments of Rs.25,000 - 30,000.

Students who would like to pursue, Bio-Technology course should check whether the colleges that offer this course have all the basic amenities to teach the course. The students should visit the colleges and check for the facilities by themselves.

Excelling in the curriculum will not alone fetch a good job for the students. He/She should be much more interactive with world outside to find a lucrative position for you in the international arena. Pursuing the course with devout interest shall lead you to success, said Mr. Thangavel.
