Appeal to include Kamaraj’s biography in text books - 9-Aug-2010
Bharatha Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Peravai President V Moorthy has appealed to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to see that former Chief Minister K Kamaraj’s biography is included in the text books for the classes from Standard one to Plus Two.
Mr Moorthy made this appeal while speaking at a function to mark the 12th anniversary of the Peravai and 108th birth anniversary of late K Kamaraj here last night.
He said the statue of the former Chief Minister should be installed in each and every school in the state so that the present student generation could come to know about the achievements in the field of education by Mr Kamaraj.
Mr Malaikottai Mayandi, Founder of the Kamarajar Trust, distributed free note and text books to the students and appealed to the Tamil Nadu Government to introduce special cash awards in the name of Mr Kamaraj for the school toppers every year.
