Today, surging ahead than print media, broadcast and new media play a dynamic role in delivering information to public. In the present scenario, with these medium constantly go through lot of developmental changes, newer organizations and means (applications) have cropped up to reach public.
  
Broadcast journalism is the field of news and journals which are "broadcast", that is, brought out by electrical methods, instead of the older methods, such as printed newspapers or journals.

New media refers to on-demand access to content anytime, anywhere, on any digital device, as well as interactive user feedback, and creative participation. Another aspect of new media is the real-time generation of new, unregulated content.

Broadcast methods include radio and television (via air, cable, and Internet). , and online specially recently, the Internet generally. Such media disperse pictures (static and moving), visual text and/or sounds.

Scripts for speaking to be broadcast tend to be written differently from text to be read by the public. For instance, the former is generally less complex and more conversational. Radio and television are designed to be seen and heard sooner and more often than is a daily or weekly newspaper.

Jobs in Broadcast media: 

News anchors: Serve as masters of ceremonies and are usually shown facing a professional video camera in a television studio while reading unseen teleprompters. Anchors usually function often in pairs (co-anchors), sit side by side, often alternating their reading.

Meteorologists: They stand in front of chroma key backgrounds to describe weather forecasting and show "graphics" (maps, charts and pictures).

Reporters: Reporters carry out research and write the stories and sometimes use video editing to prepare the story for air into a "package". They are usually engaged in gathering first hand news from the event site (Electronic field production (EFP)) and are accompanied by a videographer. An additional person or assistants manages the audio and lighting for news shoot.

The segment producer might choose, research and write stories, as well as deciding the timing and arrangement of the newscast.

An associate producer, if any, specializes in elements of the show such as graphics.

Production jobs:

A newscast director is in charge of television show preparation, including assigning camera and talent (cast) positions on the set, as well as selecting the camera shots and other elements for either recorded or live television video production.

The Director operates the video switcher, which controls and mixes all the elements of the show. In smaller stations, the Director and Technical Director are the same person.

A graphics operator operates a character generator (CG) that produces the lower third on-screen titles and full-page digital on-screen graphics.

Audio technician operates the audio mixing console and handles microphones, music and audiotape.

Production assistants operate the teleprompters and professional video cameras and serve as lighting and rigging technicians.

Jobs in new media:

The rise of new media has increased communication between people all over the world and the Internet. It has allowed people to express themselves through blogs, websites, pictures, and other user-generated media.

Until the 1980s media relied primarily upon print and analog broadcast models, such as those of television and radio. The last twenty-five years have seen the rapid transformation into media that are predicated upon the use of digital technologies, such as the internet, mobile applications.

There are lot of scope for job opportunities in new media, but the essence of obtaining and sticking on to the job is to have basic knowledge of internet and nuances of its operations.
