Construction Engineering: Construction engineering concerns basically on construction of structures such as highways, bridges, airports, railroads, buildings, dams, and reservoirs. Construction of such projects requires knowledge of engineering and management principles and business procedures, economics, and human behavior. Construction engineers engage in the design of temporary structures, quality assurance and quality control, building and site layout surveys, on site material testing, concrete mix design, cost estimating, planning and scheduling, safety engineering, materials procurement, and cost engineering and budgeting.

Structural Engineering:  Structural engineering is a field of engineering dealing with the analysis and design of structures that support or resist loads. Structural engineers are most commonly involved in the design of buildings and large non-building structures but they can also be involved in the design of machinery, medical equipment, vehicles or any item where structural integrity affects the item''''s function or safety. Structural engineers must ensure their designs satisfy given design criteria, predicated on safety or serviceability and performance.

Structural engineering is usually considered a specialty within civil engineering, but it can also be studied in its own right.

Transportation Engineer: Transportation Engineering is related to design and analysis of Highways, Railways, Airports, Urban and Suburban Road Networks, Parking Lots, and Traffic Control Signal Systems.

Town planning: It is otherwise known as urban planning or city planning. In India, places like Chandigarh and Pune are some of the cities that were developed with some meticulous planning.  This segment of study help the people living here with good road facilities, bridges, housing facilities, public parks, playgrounds, water facilities, drainage, schools and Industries.

The significance of these planned cities are revealed when compared to unplanned cities with too much population, inapt aeration, traffic jams due to narrow roads, inappropriate drainage and stagnating storm water due to inappropriate drains. The very purpose of town planning is to develop town or city with modern facilities, amenities and with proper basic infrastructure.

Geo-mechanical Engineering: Geo mechanical engineering is the branch of civil engineering concerned with the engineering behavior of earth materials. Geo-mechanical engineering includes investigating existing subsurface conditions and materials; determining their physical / mechanical and chemical properties that are relevant to the project considered, assessing risks posed by site conditions; designing earthworks and structure foundations; and monitoring site conditions, earthwork and foundation construction.

Water resource Engineering:  Building models related water capabilities likes agriculture, ditches, dams, waste treatment plants, harbors, oil rigs and hydro electric projects are part of this segment study.
