Optometrist is a person who conducts eye-tests to find out deficiency and other illness in the eyes. An Optometrist, according to the impairment, recommends the patients either to wear contact lens or spectacles. An Ophthalmologist or an eye-doctor conducts surgery for eye diseases and cure them. They also can conduct eye-tests and recommend the patients to wear spectacles.
The Optometrists, with necessary equipments, check and identify the patients vision, exactitude and focal point, regulate the eyes vision and the ability to discriminate colours. After investigation and with the results he decides the course of treatment, for which he needs a good knowledge in Mathematics and Science. Patience and good skill can create a good Optometrist.
They have chances to work in Eye Hospitals and Clinics. The Ophthalmologists require the support of the Optometrists before any eye surgery. The Opticians also provide spectacles as per the advice of the Optometrist. Those with a degree in this field, have a bright future. Experience and skill will be an added strength. Moreover, if they are acquainted with the latest technology, accessories and new equipments that are introduced now and then, that will also fetch them good job opportunities in big hospitals.
