Occupational Therapy assists patients with neurological disorder, premature babies, persons with artificial apparatus and handicapped children. The Occupational Therapists assist patients to handle artificial apparatus and stimulate specific muscle group.They give training to mentally affected and permanently disabled persons in handicraft and conduct their daily routine. These activities not only toughen their affected parts of the body and but also work as exercises to the unaffected parts of the body. The occupational therapists act as technical consultants to devise new tools towards the treatment. They can also be lecturers and trainers.
Anatomy and Physiology are taught when Occupational Therapy is studied as a Diploma course. However, practical training is provided in the hospitals. Entrance examination is conducted for admission.
