Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Orissa-

The Biju Patnaik University, Rourkela will conduct the Joint entrance Examination (JEE) Orissa 2009 for admission to first year degree course in Engineering/Technology, Architecture, Hotel Management and Catering Technology (HMCT), MBBS/BDS, Pharmacy, MCA, MBA and to the Lateral Entry of State candidates to third semester of degree courses in Engineering/Technology, HMCT and Pharmacy. The Biju Patnaik University is conducting the JEE Orissa from the year 2003. In 2009 the Joint Entrance Examination will be held on 27th May. Candidates coming from the outside the state of Orissa are eligible for admission only to the private Colleges and not the government colleges.

 

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Various Courses through JEE Orissa


For Engineering/ Technology:

Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one from Chemistry/Computer Science/Biology/Biotechnology. Candidates who have passed the 10+3 diploma course in engineering from SCTE & T, Orissa or its equivalent are also eligible to apply.


For Architecture:

For admission to architecture courses through JEE 2009 candidates need to secure a minimum of 50% marks in their 10+2 exam with mathematics and one from Physics/Chemistry/Computer Science/Biology/Engineering drawing. Candidates with at least 50% marks in 10+3 years diploma course are also eligible to apply.


For Pharmacy:

For admission to the Pharmacy curses through JEE Orissa 2009 candidates need to pass the 10+2 exam of CHSE or its equivalent. Those who are appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply. A pass or appearing in the diploma course of pharmacy is also eligible to apply.

For Hotel Management and Catering Technology: Candidates who have passed the 10+2 of CHSE or its equivalent or are appearing in the same exam are eligible to apply for the Hotel Management courses and Catering Technology courses.


For MBBS/BDS:

For admission to the MBBS/BDS Courses through JEE Orissa 2009 candidates need to pass the 10+2 exam with at least 50% (40% for SC/ST) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. Those who are appearing in the qualifying in the exam are also eligible to apply. For admission to these courses candidates should be aged between 17to 25 years of age (28 years for SC/ST candidates).

For MCA:

Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the three years bachelor degree examination or its equivalent with mathematics as a subject in both 12th and graduation are eligible to apply for the entrance exam.
A formal announcement for the 2009 programme will be notified later.
