Information and Technology sector has grown phenomenally in 10 years starting from 2000 onwards. If happen to see who provided the human resource to this segment then it would be possible to decide whether the contribution of private players is necessary or not? Only if technical education gets due importance, higher will start to move in the right direction.
Whats the need? In yesteryears, one doctor prescribed medications to all the diseases and ailments. But, today, with different types of diseases, as there are several types of latest treatment methods, the specialization branches have expanded. In every area of specialty a specialist is required.
My opinion is that, both individuals desire and family situation must be taken into consideration in selecting the branch of studies. Must select a course depending on whether you are planning to take up a job after completing studies or pursue higher education or indulge in research work. Students only should say what actually they desire.
Can get jobs: We hear that many lack employability skills. I assume that lack employability skills are being short of the needed technical training skills. Popular IT companies have close rapport with educational institutions. These companies provide training to the students and make them employable.
Similarly, if core companies work with educational institution, there would be no rooms for accusation like lack of employability skills.
