First of all, the question that I would like to ask is that are we applying for the job which suits our qualification, skill sets, personality and mindset. Is it right for an Engineering graduate to apply for a receptionist job in a hotel since he hasnt got any jobs?

Everyone cannot do the same job! Persons who dont talk much would fit to be a Mechanic or a Cashier in a bank.  If you desire travel and loves to talk, sales would be appropriate for you.   If you are a person who reasons out anything and everything, then you are fit to become a scientist or a research analyst in labs.

Well, if you have lot of friends and talk incessantly, then probably will fit to be a lawyer, teacher or a psychologist.  If you are different from others by being a night bird, it is told over the years that they would aptly be an artist, advertisement professional, musician or may be fit into film industry.

Will this suit for everybody?

Are you aware? In todays context, first it is very important to know, what are your skill sets? What are you efficient at?  and what actually you cannot do?

For which preparing a resume towards making a self analysis and jotting down about yourself is the first step.  When you list down your qualification and skills you will be able to have clear and true picture of yourself.

If you happen to make long list of false claims, unquestionably your interview experience will be a flop.  Prepare your resume by stating the right qualification and skills that you possess.  Attach along with it a competently written covering letter duly signed by you.

Preparation: Once you get an interview letter, it is crucial collect as much as details possible about the company. For which the companys website will be handy.

It is your responsibility to keep at your finger tips facts like the business nature of the company, details of products or services, number of branches, details about establishing of the company,  number of employees, any branches overseas and financial statement of the company.

It is impossible to create First Impression in the second meeting. Hence, may the first meeting be effective to have lasting impact.

Neatly arrange all the certificates that you take along with you in proper order inside a file. Take along with you four to five copies of the certificates, recently taken passport size photograph, white papers and pen that writes properly.

A good sleep the previous day;  food that would be acceptable to your system, will help you to go ahead of time to your interview.  Do not take friends, relatives along with you to the interview.  Switch off your mobile phone much before entering the interview hall.

Things to do: To impress your interviewers walk assertively while entering the interview hall or room, make sure your face is clear, put on a gentle smile, sit only after you have been asked to, wish the interviewers with Good Morning or relevantly, hand out the certificate copies only when asked and make eye contact while talking.

Furthermore, talking confidently, good body language, sound knowledge on subject, speaking without interrupting, providing relevant answers after correctly understanding the question, accepting when you dont know the answer, relaxed approach, speaking clear without mumbling will certainly yield positive result.

Things not do: Avoid shaking your legs, biting nails, answering with a Uumm, speaking  with body language, scribbling  on a paper found on the table,  fiddling with objects found on the table, drinking water kept on the table and scratching ears or noses  Never answer in haste and by no means act as if you know everything.

Do not try to win over the interviewer through sympathy by stating your poor economic background. Do not look at your watch while talking. Dont answer by looking at the walls and floor around.  After completing the interview say thank you with a smile and slowly move towards the exit door.

Answer to questions: When you did not understand the question asked by the interviewer, politely ask the question to be repeated.  It is good to answer the questions within ten seconds.  It will become disastrous if you keep telling that you dont know to whatever they ask.

It is crucial to provide answer that gives positive hope when asked questions like, Why should this job be given to you? When will you join? What is your expected salary?  Be mentally prepared if there is going to be written exam as well as group discussion.  Some companies may ask you to sign a bond.  Decide after carefully reading reading it completely. Do not tell anything that happened in the interview sessions to those waiting outside for their turns.

If you follow these things, possibilities of walking back home with the appointment order is high Good luck.
