Mumbai: The vocational divisions of Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers (RAGC) has joined hands with Don Bosco's St. Joseph's Industrial Training Institute to impart vocational training to underprivileged students.

The joint venture, which will commence from October 3, will help students to develop skills relevant to various industries and assist them in providing employment opportunities.

RAGC and Don Bosco, will provide vocational training in Automobile, Facility management, Manufacturing Automation, Hospitality Services and others as the need arises. The programs will be run at the Don Bosco Campus in Kurla, Mumbai.

During the launch of the venture, Percy Chowdhry, Director, Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers (RAGC) said that they follow the philosophy that each one has potential and "one can progress, given the appropriate environment. The objective of this collaboration is to enhance the livelihood scope."

The programmes designed by RAGC have the right balance of theory, practicals and on the job training. Regular lectures, and hands on training at Don Bosco's labs and workshops will help students complete their practicals, he said.

Field trips and project work will be part of the curriculum. A unique feature of this is an internship which will provide the candidate a stipend thus enabling him to earn his fees while he learns, he added.
